Canadian Forest Products Ltd., Witset First Nation, and Dungate Community Forest Limited Partnership are in the process of replacing the Forest Stewardship Plan which covers their operations in the Nadina and Skeena Stikine Natural Resource Districts.
Forest Stewardship Plans must address all government objectives for soils, water, wildlife, old growth, biodiversity, visuals, timber, cultural and other land use values.
They are seeking First Nations and public input on the content of this Forest Stewardship Plan amendment.
To this end the replacement Forest Stewardship Plan documents and maps have been uploaded below and are available for your review.
This new FSP deals with;
Changes to Bulkley FDU area
The new Bulkley TSA Goat Order (U-6-007) which replaces Objective 2.3 of the Bulkley Land Use Plan Order,
Correcting a missing figure under Core Ecosystems
A Revision to the Invasive Plants Measure, including provisions for Caribou habitat areas
Provision for Visuals and Stocking Standards in Wildfire Protection Plan areas.
Changes to Monitoring portion of the visual objective section
Addition of enhances stocking standards for the Morice TSA
Commercial thinning standard to provide for a stand intervention silviculture treatment resulting in partial cut.
Improved Recognition for Whitebark Pine Regen
